On Tuesday morning (5th November, 2019) His Excellency The Governor-General Sir S. W. Tapiey Seaton, GCMG, CVO, QC, JP, LL.D received a visit from His Excellency Mr. Massimo Ambrosetti Ambassador Extraodinary and Plenipotentiary of Italy to Saint Kitts and Nevis. His Excellency had in April presented his Letters of Credence to The Governor-General.
The Government and People of Saint Kitts and Nevis value the deep ties between our two Countries and the significant areas of cooperation. We have enjoyed longstanding diplomatic relations with Italy and our citizens enjoy visa free travel to Italy as part of the Schengen arrangement.
Accompanying the Ambassador was Mr Ernest Amory, MBE, Honorary Consul of Italy to Saint Kitts and Nevis. His Excellency The Governor-General and Ambassador Ambrosetti discussed matters of mutual interest including scholarships and training for our young people and issues relating to the OECD of which Italy is a member and Tourism, Quality Control, Textile Engineering and Microfinancing. Italy has also offered to share its expertise in sports especially football and technology.
