BASSETERRE, St. Kitts (March 18, 2026) — The Government of Saint Kitts and Nevis, in partnership with the African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank), has officially announced that the Federation will host the Fifth Annual AfriCaribbean Trade and Investment Forum (ACTIF2026) from July 29 to 31, 2026, at the St. Kitts Marriott Resort. The landmark event will be convened under the powerful theme: “Shared Roots. New Routes: Creating Pathways for Enterprise and Innovation.”
As the premier platform for deepening economic ties between the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) and the African continent, ACTIF2026 arrives at a pivotal moment. This fifth anniversary edition is not merely a milestone; it is a testament to the growing momentum of the “Global Africa” movement and the undeniable potential of South-South cooperation.
The theme, “Shared Roots. New Routes,” eloquently captures the duality of the Africa-Caribbean relationship. It honours the profound, centuries-old bonds of history, culture and ancestry that define the Global African family, while simultaneously charting an ambitious, forward-looking course focused on tangible economic outcomes. It is a call to transform heritage into commerce and dialogue into durable deals.
The Honourable Dr. Terrance M Drew, Prime Minister of Saint Kitts and Nevis, expressed profound pride in hosting this historic gathering, emphasising its alignment with the nation’s vision for economic diversification and international partnership.
“Hosting ACTIF2026 on our shores is a defining moment for Saint Kitts and Nevis. It is an honour to welcome the Global African family to our home for this fifth anniversary celebration. Our theme, ‘Shared Roots. New Routes,’ speaks directly to our identity as a people shaped by history but driven by innovation. We are not just a beautiful destination; we are a gateway for investment, a hub for enterprise and a proud partner in Africa’s Renaissance. This forum will create lasting pathways that will benefit our citizens, our region and the entire African continent for generations to come.”
ACTIF2026 will convene over 1,000 delegates, including heads of state, government officials, business leaders, investors and innovators from Africa, the Caribbean and the wider diaspora. The three-day programme will feature high-level plenaries, targeted business-to-business (B2B) meetings, an exhibition showcasing investment opportunities and side events focused on key sectors including technology, tourism, renewable energy and financial services.
The forum serves as a critical vehicle for advancing the implementation of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) and operationalising the Africa-Caribbean trade and investment agenda. For Saint Kitts and Nevis, it represents an unparalleled opportunity to showcase its investment-ready projects, position its private sector on an international stage and cement its role as a vital link in the new Atlantic economy.
As the countdown to July begins, the Federation stands ready to welcome the world, turning the pages of shared history into a new chapter of shared prosperity.
